Assistant Canteen Manager — VFW Post 10094
VFW Post 10094 is seeking a dependable, service-minded part-time Assistant Canteen Manager to support the Canteen Manager in maintaining a welcoming, professional, and enjoyable environment for our members, veterans, families, and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily canteen operations and supervise staff during assigned shifts.
- Support staff training, scheduling, and performance.
- Provide excellent customer service and handle customer concerns professionally.
- Assist with inventory, purchasing, deliveries, and waste control.
- Support cash handling, record-keeping, financial reporting, and audits.
- Maintain cleanliness and compliance with health, safety, and alcohol-service regulations.
- Assist with drink specials, promotions, and Post events.
- Serve as backup to the Canteen Manager when needed.
- Work closely with Post leadership and volunteers to support a positive canteen environment.
Qualifications
- Hospitality, bartending, restaurant, or customer-service experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of cash handling and inventory procedures.
- Responsible alcohol-service certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Dependable and available to work evenings, weekends, and Post events.
- Ability to work well with staff, volunteers, members, and guests.
